CEI Hack-a-thon 2017

CEI Hack-a-thon 2017: Signal Processing.

This Hack-a-thon is focused on signal processing of recorded data and consists of two organized meetings, and individual and group work in between.  We will have a kickoff meeting on Sunday Sept 24, 2017 at 11:00 to describe the hack-a-thon and the goals, organize groups, and begin work.  We will have a wrap-up meeting on Wednesday Sept 27, 2017 at 15:30 to present results of the groups and to collaborate future effort.  Groups are encouraged to set up meeting in between to work on the individual projects of the hack-a-thon.

Hack-a-thon Kickoff,  Sunday Sept 24, 2017 11:00

Here is the agenda:
  1. introduction (15 min) - Steffen Shuler
  2. Potential challenges (15 -20 min) - Laura Bear
    1. general preprocessing
      1. baseline correction, noise reduction, bad lead detection, 
    2. atria processing
      1. QRS detection and removal, phase mapping, DF processing, etc
    3. AT calculation
      1. recorded, simulated, and inverse data.  Spacial vs temporal.
  3. split into groups (~1 hour)
    1. decide groups
      1. decide challenge
      2. decide metrics
      3. distribute data and software
      4. schedule independent meetings

    1. Some discussion of integrating hack-a-thon into regular conference schedule
    2. next year will be more open to have outside meetings. 
    3. possible true hack-a-thon meetings, with stricter control and more devoted time to coding.

      1. logistical challenges- venue and length of stay

      1. A collaborative meeting to use to further existing projects in CEI, rather than focus on adding more.
